The Italian pop-rock band Fast Animals and Slow Kids, named after a Family Guy gag, was founded in 2007 in the central Italian city of City Perugia. With frontman Aimone Romizi, guitarist Alessandro Guercini, bassist Jacopo Gigliotti and drummer Alessio Mingoli, the band initially began writing songs in English, but returned to their mother tongue for their debut EP Questo è un cioccolatino (2010).
Four albums followed before the band achieved their breakthrough with their first major album in 2019. The subsequent tour, which started with a performance at the Primo Maggio concert in Rome, sold a total of fifty thousand Tickets and gave the band a new and unexpected popularity.
