Sabaton is a Swedish power metal band that was founded in Falun in 1999. The band was originally formed of by bassist Pär Sundström and vocalist Joakim Brodén. In the more than two decades that have passed since the band's formation, Sabaton have headlined major festivals, sold out arena concerts worldwide and earned a loyal fan base around the world by earning a reputation as one of the hardest working bands in the business. Since Sabaton's debut album in 2005, the band has released 10 studio albums (of some of which have been awarded GOLD, PLATINUM and even QUADRUPLE PLATINUM), eight of their albums have reached the Top 10 in the international charts and six have made it into the Top 5. The band has received eight nominations at the Metal Hammer/Golden Gods Awards, taking home the award for "Breakthrough Artist" in 2011 and "Best Live Band" in three different years, as well as a Grammis nomination (the Swedish equivalent of the US GRAMMY) for "Best Heavy Metal Band". Sabaton also has more than three billion streams on all streaming platforms and over 1.5 billion views on YouTube. Sabaton refuse to be easily pigeonholed into one genre. Fans need only know them as Sabaton, the heavy metal band that sings of about real wars and the people who played a part in them; of grueling campaigns and dazzling acts of bravery, magnificent victories and touching personal battles, true stories more fantastic than any fiction.
