Josef Salvat grew up in Sydney and learned to play the piano as a child. He began mainly with classical music, but then, influenced of by his parents' 80s music, turned to pop music and wrote his own songs. The Australian, who now lives permanently in the English capital, first attracted attention in early 2013 with the release of This Life on his Soundcloud page, which also appeared as his first maxi single shortly afterwards. The song Hustler, uploaded three months later, a re-recording of a song already created in 2010, received positive reviews in the music press and was accessed over half a million times. In the past three years, Josef has released three albums, including his current work "Islands" in 2022, with which he also goes on tour again.
