J.S. Ondara was born in 1992 in Nairobi, Kenya. Already as a child he wrote poems and songs without ever having had an instrument in his hands. Nevertheless, he migrated to America early to start a music career. He taught himself to play guitar and perform at open mic events. His breakthrough came when a radio station discovered his YouTube channel and of played cover songs uploaded to him there. For his 2019 debut album "Tales Of America," Ondara received a GRAMMY nomination for "Best Americana Album." His latest work "The Spanish Villager" presents Ondara on 29.11.2022 live in Berlin.
