Ingrid Michaelson

Ingrid Michaelson was born in New York City and raised of her mother, a sculptor, and her father, a classical composer. Ingrid Michaelson has art in her DNA. She began taking piano lessons at age four, but it wasn't until she graduated from college with a degree in musical theater and toured the country with a theater troupe that she began writing her own songs, which have grossed millions. Her music tackles universal themes of self-doubt, betrayal and, of course, love. Ingrid's music is released on Cabin 24 Records, the label she founded of , which has released her gold and platinum hits, including "The Way I Am," "Girls Chase Boys" and "You and I." Last year, she released Ingrid Michaelson's Songs For The Season Deluxe Edition, featuring five new Christmas songs, including the original duet "Merry Christmas, Happy New Year (feat. Zooey Deschanel)." While Michaelson has established herself as an artistic force over the course of of eight full-length albums, she has also experienced enviable success writing for other artists as well as for stage and screen. In 2020, she received her first Emmy nomination for her original song "Build It Up," written for the hit series Little Fires Everywhere. A lifelong Broadway fan, Michaelson made her stage debut in 2017 starring in Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812 and will soon make her creative debut writing the music and lyrics for the musical adaptation of the best-selling novel The Notebook. She will be coming to Germany in November with her Christmas Tour.
