MARLEEN LOHSE, born in Soltau in 1984, made her acting debut at the age of twelve (including Die Kinder vom Alstertal) and graduated from the Babelsberg Film University in 2010. Alongside her studies, Marleen Lohse appeared in numerous television productions and pursued a theater career at the same time. She was a member of the ensemble at the Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin until 2014 and can still be seen in guest performances. This was followed by leading roles in "Sanft schläft der Tod" and "Bella Germania", as well as "Nord bei Nordwest". Together with Erik Schmitt, she wrote the screenplay for the film "CLEO" (2019), for whose treatment they both won a grant from the Wim Wenders Foundation and opened the Berlinale section "Generation" in 2019. In the family hit THE SCHOOL OF MAGICAL ANIMALS 1 & 2 & 3 (2021 & 2022 & 2024), she played the mother of Emilia Maier's Ida. For "CLEO" she performed the cover song "Wonderful Life". Whether in front of the camera, behind the microphone or now in the music studio - Marleen Lohse moves effortlessly between the disciplines.
