In GLU, esoteric melodies meet dark beats and a dynamic flow—the solo project of Shuman (Queens Of The Stone Age, Mini Mansions). Rather than focusing on a specific genre, Shuman blends them together to create a tapestry of rhymes and musical skill that is both introspective and captivating. The interplay of gentle, melodic soundscapes paves the way for catchy lyrics that touch on themes such as struggle, loss, addiction, and trauma.
The first single of 2025, “BOOGIE MAN,” is a rousing, genre-bending power track that captures the feeling of losing yourself in the moment—free of worries or fears about who’s watching or what others might think. Comparable to artists like Jamiroquai, Gorillaz, and Mac Miller. “Boogie Man is a dance song about stepping outside yourself, letting loose, and not taking yourself too seriously. Life is short…. Who cares about what others think,” says Shuman.
Looking ahead to 2026, Shuman’s team is expanding: GLU has signed a record deal with FLG (Skunk Anansie, Corella, As It Is) and is celebrating with the release of a cover version of of Paige of 1990s classic “Crush.”
